Hi Alan. I am looking to buy a tld-20, can the drag pressure be increased ?
I like the smaller size and lightweight. Is it done like a Penn 20 int by altering
the bellviles ? I want to use 60 to 80 lb braid.

yes, but you have to be careful about exceeding 20#'s of drag and risking catastrophic frame failure.

Another problem with pushing the drag on a TLD 20 is that you'll torque the frame and misalign and thus ruin the gears. I see that frequently on TLD 20s fished with 80# for Alaskan halibut. Gears aren't cheap. The current list price is right at $34 for the pair.

I'll second that, I just serviced a 20. It will get 17# at strike with freespool and 27# at full with noticeable torque at strike and a whole bunch of torque at full. I spooled it with 50# mono which is just right for that 17#.
