Joel:  Good luck on the surgery.  I have a Browning 30-06 Safari grade.  Browning used to come with a high gloss finish.  While I liked to look at the high gloss finish it reflected too much light for hunting.  It was like shining a mirror in the woods.  The wood was French walnut.  I sanded off the finish.  I carefully used some paint remover in the diamond pattern.  Then I sat around in the evenings giving it a hand rubbed finish with linseed oil.  It was beautiful.  I love the look of hand rubbed oil finish on wood.  Your work in the photos is primo.  Dominick

I have a close friend who does SWAT and other jobs for the DA's office, and he told me tonight that they may be cutting range time due to high ammo prices.  He bought a case of .223's for 120% higher than last year for personal consumption.  He said he'll be downsizing soon if this keeps up. Uggh! nothing like politicians

 SOME REAL NICE WORK YOU GOT THERE. I JUST BOUGHT ME AN OLDER REM 1100 20 GA LAST WEEK. I SHOOT SPORTING CLAYS WITH FRIENDS EVERY THURSDAY. I NORMALLY SHOOT MY BERETTA 3901 12 GA. I RELOAD THE SHELLS FOR THE 12 GA. I BOUGHT ENOUGH SUPPLIES LAST YEAR TO LAST FOR A COUPLE YEARS. THE RANGE GOT SOME 20 GA. IN LAST WEEK AND I BOUGHT COUPLE CASES FOR $65 EA.  GOING TO SHOOT THE 1100 MOST OF THE TIME DOES'T BEAT THE SHOULDER UP AS BAD.

Like the custom Mauser 98, I used to have one in an Argentine 7x57. Also like the Rem Mohawk. Had one of them in a .222
