I have a question on installing the smoothdrag carbontex washers on my 6500C Abu.  One side of the washer is more porous and the other more smooth.  Which side goes up or down or does it matter?  Thanks much.

It doesn't matter.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D
