From now on, you can name me,  Alex Baja Custom Billiard pool and fishing Rods (j/k)  ^-^  ^-^

I have one young guy of 78yo coming to my office and asking me if I can do something for his custom Pool cue that  lost all the "real leather" cover of the butt section, the rest of the butt section seems to be made with some kinda marbeling paper / sticker some accents and epoxy resin so, I think I can do something there.


He let the design or colors open to my imagination  :)  :D 

so far, I just sanded a bit the uncovered section to take all the rests and bits of the glue and leather

It might surprise you what pool cue go for !   It could be a nice sideline job .

never even thought on search for the cost of a custom pool cue until you said it, found this on my 1st quick search.
I should have charged for for the job Im doing on the pool cue  ::)  :-\

 There is a lot of nice designs in the handle of pool sticks that would look good on fishing rods .

Did you weigh it before so you could try to match the weight?
Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.

He brought it to me just like in the picture, so, I dont have an idea of the original weight

  Now almost anything can made from carbon . Fishing rod, golf club ,bike , tennis racket ...Any  carbon pool cue yet ?

I had a "graphite" one years ago. It was great. Close enough?

I know nothing about pool cues but since getting that one for work on it, I searched a bit about custom pool cues and saw those made ouuta carbon check them out

this is the pool cue wrap job.

at least the owner was pretty happy and exited as a 8 years old boy with a big smile, he went out from my office without taking the sight outta the pool wrap job  ^-^

he told me that he was pretty sure that it will be a conversation starter item

 Pool sticks can have enormous value, but generally speaking, the highest value is in the name of the manufacturer. Joss is just one of the very well known "high end" brands, and can sell for thousands. There is a noticeable difference between low end and high end cues. I was a shark back in my 20's. Won lots of money and dozens of trophies playing pool leagues with some of the best players in the Seattle area. Gave it all up when my interest changed to saltwater fishing, but I still pick up a cue every so often. Nice pool table in our recreation room keeps me happy

cool story about you Ted, thanks for sharing it, yep, its so nice to see young guys of 70 or 80 years old be as happy as when they were kids of 7 or 9 yo with his new toys, that said he said he will be the envy of the whole pool room later today at the local pool bar, today is 8 pool ball game (he said)
