Let's call this throw back Thursday.  Going through mom's picture books I found this picture of me from October 1972.  Making me eight years old.  The notes say it ws on the Umpqa River in Oregon, the rod was a Browning, 300 Mitchell with 6 lb test.  The lure if I remember correctly was a gold colored spoon, hammered on one side.  Sadly we were traveling by car and ended up donating the fish to a restaurant in exchange for a salmon steak dinner.  Bill

;D  OK I call you Old fashion or Stubborn , I am in the same boat .  I do have gas powered and 110 electric powered blowers , chain saws and hedge trimmers .    I will pick the 110  electric tools  first.    Cheaper to run  , always starts when you hit the trigger .

I do not know what the cost analyst is to charge up batteries verse using 110 straight .
Yes it is nice to pick up a battery tool for the quick work .

Yup. What to do though? I hate lawns to begin with. Yeah, they look nice and they're good to play on, but expensive to care for and time consuming and lawnmower/weedeater noise oriented. Gimme cement, bout 10' around my house and 10' wide driveway.

Yep, Cortez Conversions has great blades at a fantastic price, and they are snug fit.

A lot of custom reel parts are now made across the pond, and not worth a red cent

When I had local machinist make my blades, he asked if I wanted to make the hole a hair larger to allow for anodizing. I said no. I use a rubber screwdriver handle and hafta smack it hard to get my blade on the sleeve.

Call me old fashioned or stubborn if anyone wants to, but I'm skeptical regarding all these battery operated tools and equipment. I'm not a fan. At some point battery disposal pollution will outweigh what little environmental savings they offer. We are already seeing issues regarding that aspect. People seem to forget that they need electricity to be charged and when they're worn out something needs to be done with them. 🙄
