In east Tenn., they have set up a viewing apparatus at a couple of spots where color-blind folks can see the fall colors.  Several people overcome with emotion seeing the colors for the first time ever.  Nice touch by the folks in that area to set this up.

Frank, I was interested in this comment, so I googled it.  It's pretty amazing.  Thanks for the info.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Gary, my family used to live in Sandy Oregon, crossed that river many times. Also spent a lot of time hound hunting the backside of Hood. Some beautiful country.

Hey Dave;  its a small world sometimes.  :)  The Sandy river has given me a few steelhead back in the day.  We lived south of there a little ways south and east of there and would fish steelhead in the Sandy river as well as the Clackamas river.   We had a drift boat and it got us in lots of adventures.   The town we lived in was and old logging/sawmill town of the boom eras like so many.   Not much of a town really but way bigger than where we migrated to in Alaska.     The fall colors can be great around there especially from Mt Hood to Hood River on the Columbia, When I get reception...... ;)

That's at Ober Gatlinburg about 1-1/2 hour drive from here.

Here's an old logging road behind our house.

Nice Ted; I almost always launch well before sun up. To change tracks here are a couple of "autumn' pics from just the other day on the coast while deer hunting. Snow and minus 7 C is rare in the winter and extremely rare in Coastal BC in early November.

Colors are fading here in the Cumberland Mountains from all the recent rain and wind.

Our nearest trout stream was roaring yesterday.

Mr festus, thanks for your pictures again.  Can you please tell us the history of the house missing and the lone chimney and fireplace.  Great history of hardworking folks I'm sure.    😉

The man who owned the house passed away a few years ago.  He never married, worked in the coal mines and farmed his own food all his life and wanted a simple lifestyle.  So he never had any electricity or city water.  He told me he never married because his parents had been through a divorce, which was really looked down on back in the old days.  After he passed away, a real estate agent had the house burned because it was falling in.  Here is another pic of the place made during the winter of 2010.
